Mechanical Services Limited sponsored a Golf Tournament at the Fiji Golf Club over the weekend which saw a large number of people from the business house committee turn up at the event.

The Tournament was held on Saturday 5th September which teed of at 11 in the morning and finished at 3.30 in the afternoon.

Prizes were given to the winners of the tournament and then later on all the participants were treated to a cocktail party organized by the staff of Mechanical Services Limited.

The prize giing ceremony was held around 5pm in the afternoon with a speech given by our Managing Director Mr Shiv Nand Sharma who is also a member of the Fiji Golf Club.

This year Mechanical Services Limited participated in Fiji’s biggest Exhibition which was ‘Fiji Show Case 2009’. We have participated in the Show Case for the first time which was held from 5th June to 13th June at Vodafone Arena in Suva. Our purpose of going in the showcase was to promote the products and services of our company. The 9 day event was a successful one considering the fact that we have marketed our company in a big way.
Our range of products which was marketed included as follows:

During the event, we distributed the fliers and brochures highlighting our above products & services.  

For the first time in Fiji, OYL Manufacturing Group conducted a Training on McQuay Air Conditioners.

Their representative, Mr Melvin Choong conducted a three day training programme at Mechanical Services Limited Suva which was attended by 20 participants from Central, Western & Northern Division.

The training was basically focused on the McQuay Products which include the Wall Mounted, Cassette, Ceiling Suspended Air Conditioners and other products including Chillers. The training has engouraged our technicians and has enhanced the skills for service and installation of McQuay Air Conditioners. 

The award came in commemoration of the 21st Anniversary of the MONTREAL PROTOCOL and its successful implementation in Fiji.

The Montreal Protocol on Substances That Deplete the Ozone Layer is an international treaty designed to protect the ozone layer by phasing out the production of a number of substances believed to be responsible for ozone depletion. The treaty was opened for signature on September 16, 1987 and entered into force on January 1, 1989. It is believed that if the international agreement is adhered to, the ozone layer is expected to recover by 2050.

The function organized by the Department of Environment was held at True Bluz Hotel in Sigatoka on the 18th September, 20081.

Apart from the above, our company also received the Certificate of Appreciation by the National Ozone Unit on the 21st Anniversary of the Montreal Protocol for outstanding performance and contribution towards the successful implementation of the Montreal Protocol in Fiji.

Mr. William Ling from Automated Logic Corporation Singapore conducted a workshop to update our engineers on the following to enhance the skills of programming and troubleshooting ALC controller. It also teaches graphically view of programming that can help to build a user-friendly ALC program.

The August publication of the famous “Turaga magazine” featured twenty four pages of anarticle covering the evolution and success of Mechanical Services Ltd since its inception.

The story features interviews with the Managing Director, General Manager, Company Secretary and the Accounts Manager.

A broad description of the nature of business and its status in the industry has been very well put into words in the magazine.

The Turaga magazine is circulated throughout the whole of Fiji Islands and also to other neighboring countries in the Pacific. This feature on an air conditioning company is a first of its kind and the people involved have put in extensively to give the August issue a ‘Cool Touch’.

Mechanical Services Limited Nadi branch participated in the soccer bazaar organised in aid of the Shri Sanatan Dharam Ramayan Bhajan Mandli of Malolo Nadi on 20th July, 2008. This was held at the AD Patel Primary School grounds. Mechanical Services Limitred Nadi took part in this annual event. Our company is actively involved in helping out the religious organisations.

The world is concerned about the environment and so is Fiji. We have also very strongly shown our support for this and together with the ministry of environment, MSL has played a vital role in recognition of there support to this worthy event. We will have the information distributed at the environment week, creating more awareness about the environment. As we go about developing in our area of excellence, namely air conditioning, we do care for the environment and our support to this major calendar event is indeed appreciated by the environment ministry.

23rd May 2008, has marked a very important day for our stores department, since MSL official opened its permanent store in the new premises.
MSL has the largest air conditioning, stainless steel, Sheetmental storing in Fiji and we will continue to be the dominate force for many more years to come.

It’s not only that we are best in providing quality product but it’s also our service that makes us more popular and renowned. In order to do so MSL has engaged in many sorts of activates such as arranging trainings programs and meetings for our staff.

We had a successfully engineers meeting on 24th May 2008, whereby our engineers were briefed on the new technology advancements and their roles and responsibilities as the senior technician of Mechanical Services Ltd.

We have got modern Training Facilities, both in Suva and Nadi branch. Regular theoretical and practical training and meeting sessions are conducted on different aspects of our business to provide accorded coaching and education to our employees.

Mechanical Services Limited Vehicle the BMW 7 series won the Best Family Car prize in the car show competition that was held at Namaka, Nadi on 1st May, 2008. Our representative on this event was our Director and Assistant General Manager Shonal Sharma. 

It was a proud moment for MSL, to get a VIP privilege pass for the ARBS seminar which was held in Melbourne, Australia. ARBS (Air Conditioning Refrigeration Building Services) seminar was attended by our Managing Director Mr. Shiv Nand Sharma. This shows that MSL has got a global recognition for their commitment in air conditioning services.

Our future is our children and we believe that they should not be deprived of their education.

Hence the main motive of this charitable club is to assist all the needy students around Fiji, either through paying their school fees or any other means.

For year 2008, there was a committee meeting held on 18th March 2008 and we had allocated $11000.00 to fund 48 schools around Fiji whereby 378 students have taken the full benefits of our small contribution. The club was established in 2003 and has been able to help 1354 students all around Fiji.

Mechanical Service Limited has introduced the most recent model of spilt system air conditioning units for year 2008 from our sole distributor Daikin Industries (Japan) Ltd.

Our new spilt system comes in this model range:

• 9000 BTU and 12000 BTU in DVM series
• 18000 BTU and 24000 BTU in FVM series

The air conditioners manufactured by daikin industries have received IOS 9001 certification for quality assurance.

Mechanical service is in the process of setting up their new premises at Matua Rd, Walubay. We had the ground laying ceremony that was held on 15 September 2007. Till date, 70% of the construction work has been completed and it is most like that the premises will be ready for opening ceremony by August end. It is likely that representative from Daikin Industries Japan will be present for the opening ceremony.
